MRS. KATEŘINA (Nana)

Mrs. Kateřina was created in 1971 upon the initiative of Helena Štáchová and first appeared in A Trap for Hurvínek (Past pro Hurvínka). Designed by Zdeněk Juřena and carved by Ivan Moravec, Mrs. Kateřina soon became one of the theatre’s permanent protagonists. Mánička and Mrs. Kateřina are traditionally manipulated on the forestage, like the other characters, by the same actress and like the other principal characters. Helena Štáchová and Marie Šimsová previously gave Mrs. Kateřina her voice, but today, the role is performed by Jana Mudráková.
