BEHIND THE THEATRE CURTAIN – part 3
Helena Štáchová joined the ensemble in 1966 and soon became the voice of Mánička. It was her initiative that the character of Mrs. Kateřina Hovorková (Nana) was introduced, first appearing in A Trap for Hurvínek (Past pro Hurvínka) in 1971. Martin Klásek joined the company in 1973 and later became the third interpreter of Spejbl and Hurvínek.

Beyond the stage, the characters became widely known through television bedtime stories and recordings released by the Supraphon recording company; since 1929, a total of 448 audio titles have been produced. In 1964, during Heartfelt Metamorphoses (Srdečné metamorfóry) for their one and only time, Spejbl and Hurvínek changed their appearance growing larger and rounder, their puppeteers had now become visible performing alongside the protagonists.
